Biography
Doc Rossi portrait

I started playing the guitar in 1967, when musical eclecticism ruled. Not only was there great FM radio in Detroit back then, but my local library had a surprising collection of LPs that fired my curiosity further. The affinity I developed early on with Irish and English traditional musics grew out of first falling in love with the dance music of medieval, renaissance and baroque Europe. I came of age during a time of cultural revolution, but I also heard a deep reverence for the past in the music that captivated me, and has in turn led me to the countries from which it flows.
